Activation Lock Removal Guide

Important information for Samsung devices with 5.02 or later software

With the release of version 5.0.2 software, Samsung introduced Factory Reset Protection (FRP lock). It is important to sign out of your Samsung and Google account before you send us your device. If we receive your device with your Samsung account still active there may be a delay in processing and sending you your payment. Please follow the instructions below to remove your accounts from your device.

Remove a Samsung account

1. Ensure you are connected to the internet, navigate to Settings > Accounts
2. Tap Accounts, and then select your Samsung account
3. Tap Personal info and then tap More options Note: If your device doesn't have a Personal info section, just, tap More options
4. Tap Remove account
5. Review the information, and then tap Remove
6. Enter your password to verify your identity, and then tap OK

Remove a Google account

Just like with a Samsung account, you can remove your Google account as well. The steps are similar, and the process is just as easy.

1. From Settings, swipe to and tap Accounts and backup
2. Tap Accounts , and then select your Google account
3. Tap Remove account, and then tap Remove account again to confirm
